Timestamping each file in a directory using its original creation date found in the EXIF data. Fixes timestamp issues when a file manager doesnt set the timestamps correctly after copying them from eg. your camera to your computer (happens with eg. Thunar).
for i in *.jpg; do touch -d "`exiftool -T -d '%F %R' -DateTimeOriginal $i`" $i; done
Note: Yes, exiftool supports video formats, too. Just reading them out, but that's all we need, anyway ;)
for i in *.mp4; do touch -d "`exiftool -T -d '%F %R' -CreateDate $i`" $i; done
